Disclaimers
- The information on this form is for general informational purposes only and is not legal advice.
- Whistleblowers play a vital role in congressional oversight. The right to communicate with Congress is protected by the First Amendment. Various federal laws prohibit retaliation for providing information to Congress (including 5 U.S.C. § 2302 for many executive-branch employees and numerous private-sector protections). Individuals still take serious risks when making allegations.
- To better protect your communications, do not use work devices, work email, or contact us while you are working. Use personal resources only.
- Consider consulting an attorney experienced in representing whistleblowers before making a disclosure.
- Do not submit classified information, controlled unclassified information that is not publicly releasable, or any other information barred from release through this form or by email. Classified or sensitive material must be handled only through authorized secure channels.
- In addition, the House of Representative’s Office of the Whistleblower Ombuds has guiding resources that can be accessed on its Resources for Whistleblowers page at https://whistleblower.house.gov/resources/resources-whistleblowers. Please note that the Office of the Whistleblower Ombuds is not authorized to receive disclosures from whistleblowers.
- You may submit anonymously. However, anonymous submissions may limit our ability to respond or assist with referral.
- Submitting this form does not create an attorney-client relationship or guarantee any particular outcome. The office has limited capacity and will prioritize based on jurisdiction, relevance to the NDA directive, and available resources.
- By submitting, you acknowledge that the office may, with your explicit consent, refer your contact information and a summary of your inquiry to appropriate Administration entities to facilitate authorized follow-up.
