Please join us in congratulating the following individuals:

  • First Place: Bitsy in Black & White by Cassidy Magee, Blue Eye High School

  • Second Place: Ritter Springs by Rylan Clements, Clever High School

  • Third Place: In Between, Anya Soni, Greenwood Laboratory School

Voters in the America Celebrates 250 Years category selected Fly High by Hailey Gower of Aurora High School.

Thanks again for your participation. Everyone who entered the competition will receive a certificate of achievement signed by Congressman Burlison.

We will again sponsor the art competition next year, so if you do not graduate this year, start now on perfecting your submission and watch our website next spring for the competition guidelines.

Welcome to the 2026 Congressional Art Competition!

Each spring, a nationwide high school art competition is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Artistic Discovery Contest is an opportunity to recognize and to encourage artistic talent in the nation, as well as in our congressional district.

The contest is open to all high school students in our district, and the winning artwork will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol. The exhibit in Washington, D.C. includes the winning artwork from all participating districts from around the country, and winners’ artwork also is featured on the House.gov's Congressional Art Competition page.

The rules for students and teachers may be found here.

The student release form for submissions may be found here.

The following is a summary of the Congressional Art Competition timeline:
