Rep. Burlison Named Chairman of Key Oversight Subcommittee

January 17, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform today announced that Rep. Eric Burlison (R-Mo.) has been named Chairman of the Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Energy Policy, and Regulatory Affairs.

Representative Eric Burlison is an effective member of the Oversight Committee, and I am excited to announce him as the next chairman of the Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Energy Policy, and Regulatory Affairs," said Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.). "In this role, he will work with President Trump and his administration to unleash domestic energy production and cut red tape that stifles economic growth. I look forward to working with Representative Burlison as we strive to make the federal government more efficient, effective, transparent, and accountable to the American people.

Rep. Burlison added, "It is an honor to lead this vital subcommittee at such a critical time for our nation’s energy and economic future. We must cut through the suffocating regulations holding back American innovation and ensure our power grid is capable of meeting the demands of the 21st century. We will combat the radical green energy agenda that jeopardizes our energy security and fight for policies that restore energy independence. Together, we can unlock America’s potential, strengthen our economy, and put the needs of hardworking Americans first."

The Subcommittee plays a critical role in shaping policy that impacts economic growth and energy development, as well as holding federal agencies accountable.
