Rep. Burlison Files Amendments to the Department of Homeland Security, and the State and Foreign Operations Appropriations Bills
WASHINGTON- Congressman Eric Burlison (R-MO-07) recently introduced a series of amendments to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs (SFOPs) appropriations bills for Fiscal Year 2025, which are being considered on the House floor this week. Rep. Burlison also collaborated with his colleagues to cosponsor a series of amendments to the Department of Defense (DOD) appropriation bill.
“Under President Biden, millions of illegal immigrants have invaded our country due to his reckless open-border policies. My amendments for DHS aim to combat these disastrous policies by restricting funds for programs that undermine our immigration laws. I am taking a stand to preserve our nation's security and sovereignty.”
“In defense of our nation, DOD amendments I cosponsored ensure our military remains focused on lethality instead of pursuing a far-left radical agenda by banning the use of funds of diversity, equity, and inclusion.”
“On the international front, my SFOPs amendments prohibit funding for USAID to countries where Christians are persecuted, block funding for the Office of the Special Representative for Racial Equity and Justice, and halt funds for the World Economic Forum.”
“These amendments are critical to ensuring our resources are used to protect American citizens. They prioritize American interests and ensure taxpayer dollars are spent appropriately,” said Rep. Burlison.
