Rep. Burlison Introduces UAP Disclosure Act of 2025 as Amendment to NDAA
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Eric Burlison (MO-07) announced today that he has submitted the Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) Disclosure Act of 2025 as amendment to the FY 2026 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) to increase transparency on government records related to UAP.
“For too long, Americans have been left in the dark about UAP,” said Rep. Burlison. “This amendment ensures these records are preserved, reviewed, and responsibly released to the public. Sunlight is the best disinfectant, and the American people deserve the truth.”
If adopted, the amendment will:
- Prohibit the destruction or alteration of UAP records.
- Create a UAP Records Collection at the National Archives to preserve and make available all relevant government records.
- Establish an independent UAP Records Review Board to oversee the review and declassification process.
- Require public disclosure of UAP records within 25 years unless the President certifies a clear national security reason for delay.
- Provide ongoing congressional oversight to ensure accountability.
“This effort is about transparency and trust,” Burlison concluded. “Without jeopardizing legitimate national-security interests, our government should be as forthcoming as possible with the American people about what it knows about UAP.”
